The high-energy airshow performer joins the Sopwith family, uniting precision timekeeping with world-class aerial artistry
Sopwith Watch Company is proud to announce a brand ambassador partnership with Skip Stewart, one of the most electrifying aerobatic pilots performing on the airshow circuit today. Known for his gravity-defying routines in his custom-built Prometheus biplane, Stewart embodies the daring spirit and mechanical precision that define the Sopwith brand.
Stewart has thrilled millions of spectators across North America and internationally with performances that push the boundaries of what a biplane can do. His signature low-level passes, tumbles, and inverted flight demand split-second timing and total trust in his aircraft and instruments—qualities that align naturally with Sopwith’s commitment to building watches that perform when it matters most.
“My grandfather was a cropduster. As a kid I would sit on his lap and fly,” Stewart said. And today, the award-winning stunt pilot performs “18 to 23 shows per year, and that’s worldwide. I’ve done fifteen countries including Australia, China, United Arab Emirates, Chile, all over the Caribbean, Mexico, Canada.”
As a Sopwith ambassador, Stewart will wear the Aero Marquis Nieuport 28 Limited Edition timepiece with a case forged entirely from the steel of the biplane’s original Gnome rotary engine.
“I met Skip when we worked on an air show together in 2006,” said Sopwith president Stephen Cox. “He was literally the first guy I thought of when we started our company. Skip epitomizes a sense of wonder and aspiration, and that’s exactly what we want to capture. This partnership is a perfect match of values: craftsmanship, courage, and a relentless drive to perform at the highest level.”
The collaboration will debut at upcoming airshow events during the 2026 season.
